rooibos: a mild infusion with many benefits
What is rooibos?
rooibos is often called “red tea”, but this is misleading shorthand. This infusion comes from Aspalathus linearis, a plant native to South Africa, rather than Camellia sinensis, like green, black or white tea. The confusion is understandable: it is prepared in exactly the same way.
What sets it apart straight away? Its complete lack of caffeine and its naturally mild, slightly sweet taste, which appeals to many from the very first cup.

How to prepare Rooibos properly:

- Bring the water to the boil
- Use around 1 teaspoon per 250 ml
- Leave to infuse for 5 to 7 minutes
Good news: unlike green tea, rooibos never becomes bitter, even if you forget the cup on the counter. You can brew it more freely.
