Mugs, cups and tumblers

How do you choose a mug?

Choosing a mug depends on several factors, including its size, shape, material (ceramic, porcelain, glass, metal) and design. You may prefer a larger mug for bigger drinks or a smaller mug for tea or espresso. The material is also important: porcelain and ceramic mugs are the most common and are excellent for keeping drinks hot, while metal is more durable but is not always microwave-safe. You may also want to choose a design that suits your style or décor.

Why choose a cup?

A cup is often preferred for drinking tea or coffee in smaller quantities. Its smaller size helps keep the drink at the right temperature while you drink it. In addition, a cup generally has a more elegant shape and can be used in more formal settings.

Who invented the mug?

The concept of a drinking vessel dates back thousands of years, long before the word "mug" was used. The word "mug" itself appeared in 16th-century England, but it is not known who invented the modern mug as we know it today.

What is the difference between a cup and a mug?

A cup is generally smaller and has a more elegant shape, with a handle on the side. It is often used for drinking tea or coffee in small quantities. A mug is larger, has a sturdier shape and is designed to hold more liquid, making it ideal for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soup and other hot or cold drinks.
